CIS’s Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals

CIS have a demonstrable commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aligns with the core values and objectives of other leading European initiatives.

Our Solar4School project provides Kenyan private schools with an eco-friendly mode of energy, while also offers the potential for long-term, stable income through a fully-automated mobile charging system that integrates with M-Pesa scheme. Through channeling the latest off-grid solar energy technology from Europe, we present an affordable alternative to grid power for Kenyan schools while limiting the environmental and health consequences of using kerosene and candles for electricity. It explicitly tackles SDG 7—access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy—while simultaneously pursuing SDG 4—ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all.

Our commitment to environmental responsibility and our broader mission to facilitate sustainable development in East Africa drives our hunger for innovative clean tech solutions that help develop sustainable infrastructure, energy efficiency, power infrastructure, and renewable energy in areas lacking those resources. These objectives, along with the UN global goals, form the backbone of much of the work we do here at CIS.

For Africa to raise, we must introduce more SDG-aligned initiatives. Got an idea? get in touch!
